Interview with Idledaze – Sandbox

In this interview spotlight, I chat with idledaze about the music, choosing a favorite song, dream collabs and more.

Full Q&A along with links and music below.

Are you able to choose a favorite song of all time? Or would you label this an impossible task? If yes, what’s the song? If no, what’s your current Top 3?

I would label that question impossible for me to answer. Best three for me would be Welcome to the Jungle -Guns and Roses  | Bust a Move- Young MC | When the Musics Over- The Doors

What about this project makes you most proud? Was there a specific goal you were trying to accomplish with this release?

This E.P. is a collection of old and new songs in different genres which is admirable but I am most proud of the music video “Hot Feet” a digital action collaboration of oil canvas paintings, Go go dancing and Rock and Roll. The goal(s) are collaboration and inspiration, work with other are mediums and poke my band Safe Under the Tree to get in the studio and finish the L.P.

What inspires you to create music? What motivates you to keep going?

Creating music is inspiring to me because you never know where you will end up next physically and or spiritually. Last night I jammed at a new location with new people, today almost in tears listening to a song that resonated with me.

My motivation is the feedback from the people to better understand and interact frequencies live and on record.

If you could collaborate with anyone – dead or alive, famous or unknown – who would it be and why? If it’s an indie/DIY artist, please include a link so readers can check them out.

I would have collaborated with my Father, we jammed together but never recorded. Mom is still alive and rocking. We are planning our first live performance in 2023.

What was the last song you listened to? Favorite all-time bands/artists?

Pink Floyd – The Gunner’s Dream
