Interview with Susie M – Gospel for the Soul

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman June 7, 2022 1:33 pm Tagged With: gospel, London, singer, songwriter, Soul, United Kingdom

Susie M

Susie M is a recording Gospel/ Christian music artist based in London UK.

Susie is a lover of God and a passionate follower of Jesus Christ. She started singing at the age of six and was appointed the lead singer of the children’s Sunday School choir at her local church. Susie’s Sunday school teacher discovered her singing talent and since then, music has been part of Susie’s life.

In this interview spotlight, I chat with Susie M about the latest release (Jesus Is Alive), adapting during lock downs, technology and more.

Full Q&A along with links and music below.

Where are you from and how do You describe your style of music?

Hi. My name is Susie M. and I am originally from the English speaking region of Cameroon, but currently reside in London, UK.

How did you get here? As in, what inspired or motivated you to take on this journey through music and the music biz?

Music has been a part of me from childhood. At the age of six, my music and Sunday school teacher discovered my singing talent and appointed me the lead singer of the children’s Sunday School choir at my local church. From then on, I discovered and became a lover of Gospel music. As lover and follower of Christ Jesus, I decided to use my talent to glorify Him.

How does your latest project compare/contrast with your previous release(s)? Were you setting out to accomplish anything specific, follow a specific theme, or explore different styles of creation?

Yes. I was looking forward to get my latest release/ song out across the world.

My previous releases did reached out to a wide audience, but “Jesus Is Alive”, my latest release is cutting across a much wider audience. By the grace of God “Jesus Is Alive” is being aired on various radio stations around the world too. It is playing on “LA Radio” in Montreal, Canada ,  WBRJ- LPFM 97.3 in Louisana, USA,  PRZ FM in  London, UK,  “Radio Predication” in Blois, France, and “Adonai Radio Cast “ in Melbourne, Australia, to name just a few.

Also, “Jesus Is Alive” the music video is being distributed and promoted by Rive Music Video throughout North America, so I believe my latest release will be a great success, all to the glory of God.

Name the biggest challenge you faced as a creative during these unprecedented times? How did you adapt? How have you kept the creative fires burning during all this?

My biggest challenge is financing my music ministry as an independent artist, but God has been faithful, with Him all things are possible. He keeps me going at all times.

What do you stand for?

I am a lover and worshipper of God. Also, one who wants to see people set free from bondage.

What was the last song you listened to? Does that artist influence you in any way?

Way maker by Sinach.

Yes, Sinach inspires me a lot and she’s a role model too.

Which do you prefer? Vinyl? 8-tracks? Cassettes? CDs? MP3s? Streaming platforms?

I prefer MP3s and Streaming platforms above the rest.

What does music mean to you?

Music means everything to me.

I believe music is my calling and my purpose in life.

Where is the best place to connect with you and follow your journey?

I would love to hear from everyone. Here are a few ways to connect and follow me.
