Interview with Tony Valor – D’Nah Nah

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman August 7, 2018 10:25 am Tagged With: dance, Electronic, New York City, Pop, singer, songwriter, United States

Tony Valor-D'Nah Nah

Tony Valor is a native New Yorker now living in Palm Beach, Florida. Being of Sicilian, Chinese and Hispanic descent he has a unique multicultural background. He is bilingual and has spent much of his life in his hometown of Guangzhou, China, which he visits on a regular basis.

His love for singing began at the age of 3, and his interest in music grew while sitting under the console in his father’s studio, as he worked on his music productions. With three consecutive releases charting on the Billboard Dance Charts, Tony is carving out a successful career, and is looking forward to producing and performing many more hits.

In this interview spotlight, I chat with Tony about the latest project, motivations, challenges and more.

Full Q&A along with links and music below.

Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)

I’m from the U.S.A and i don’t have a particular style that I claim as an artist. To me music is music. If you vibe to it no matter the style that’s what counts. I like to adapt to all styles.

What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?

I inherited this life. My life’s ambition is to always strive for the dream no matter the circumstance.

How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?

Nothing in particular other than having a good time and getting your mood up. however, i do have some new content coming out very soon. I would say that these upcoming tracks are more in depth and personal. Can’t wait to show you guys!

Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this oversaturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?

Definitely standing out would be one of the biggest challenges. There are so many styles that many have adapted to and become open about. technology definitely helps with your reach and makes promotion easier for upcoming artists.

Where is the best place to connect with you online and discover more music?

Hit me up on IG, soundcloud, twitter, spotify, etc…. @tonyvalormusic

Anything else before we sign off?

for those with a striving dream if there’s one thing I know for sure its ‘Hard Work Beats Talent”
