Interview with Brian Hester and the Borrowed Band – MusicTree Fest 2014 #MTF14

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman April 2, 2014 8:18 am

MusicTree Fest will be taking place in Manchester, Tennessee – June 6-7, 9-10. We will be publishing interviews with the performing bands as we close in on the 3rd year of this festival. View the full line-up.

Brian Hester and the Borrowed BandLet’s start with the basics, who are you? Where are you from? What style of music do you create?

Brian Hester ( the borrowed band) Manchester, Tn. Americana, country rock , I don’t know about the labels man.

This is MusicTree Fest’s 3rd year. Is this your first time? If yes, how did you learn about MusicTree?

No, we have played every year

Was there an “ah-ha moment” in your life when you knew you would pursue music?

Sometime between the Doctor slapping my ass and my mom crying, or was it when I got a guitar when I was 13? Who knows

Who (or what) motivates and inspires your writing and playing style(s)?

Motivation comes in waves, I stay pretty busy with other things in life, so it is hard to always stay on top of the music. My grandfather played aside from that I would site, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Bruce Springsteen and modern acts like the Avetts and Langhorne Slim.

What can we expect from your performance at MusicTree Fest 2014?

Well I hope you expect to enjoy yourself, otherwise why did you come!?

Where can we connect with you online? Where can we listen or download your music?

Everywhere, our first and only(so far) Album is for sale on, Amazon, ITunes, Reverbnation. You can also stream it free on Spotify,Youtube, facebook and reverbnation

Do you have plans for Bonnaroo this year?

Sure

Any closing thoughts? Shout outs?

Thanks to everyone who comes out to show after show and take it easy dude.
