Interview with Splitting Atoms

MusicTree Festival will be going down June 7 – 11 in Manchester, Tennessee. We will be publishing info and features about the bands as we close in on this event. Feel free to check out our coverage from 2012.

Splitting Atoms

Let everyone know who you are, where you are from and what style of music you play.

Splitting Atoms are based out of the Madison/Huntsville area. We play original song orientated Alternative rock music. We are John Thygerson vocals, Matt Eldredge guitars and vocals, Wayne Graves bass, Brett Cruise Drums and Robert Dismuke guitars.

What do you do for fun? You know…besides music?

What did you listen to when you were younger? What do you listen to now? Have your tastes changed?

I grew up listening to Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, Duran Duran, The Fixx, The Beatles,

Was there an “ah-ha” moment in your life when you knew music would be the path you were going to walk?

When I was 12 years old formed my first band with my brother John. We thought we were going to be rock stars we play a grade school talent show and had the first taste of applause and was hooked.

How did you hear about Music Tree Fest?

Researching local festivals on the internet.

How do you feel about being a part of Music Tree Festival?

It is an honor. We are very excited to play with the wonderful artists that are playing the fest.

Do you have plans for Bonnaroo?

Our schedule is full or we would.

Do you have an album available?

Where can we get it? Where can people connect with you online? Our Album “Surfacing” will be out by mid June but we have several songs available for download on our reverbnation site at www.reverbnation.com/splittingatomsband and at our home page www.splittingatomsmusic.com.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness.
