Interview with Stan Fischer

Stan Fischer We recently grabbed this brief interview with long time musician, guitarist, and instrumentalist Stan Fischer. You can find a lot more music on Stan’s website so be sure to stop by and show your support.

Let’s start with the basics. Who are you? Where are you from? What style of music do you create?

Based in Wisconsin and Minnesota, solo guitarist Stan Fischer has over 100 song credits to his name. Stan writes and arranges guitar solos both for 6 and 12 string guitar.

When did you first pick up the guitar? Did you know you would spend the rest of your life mastering the instrument?

12 yrs old

Who influenced you or motivated you to pursue music as a career choice?

Leo Kottke, Paco De Lucia and Doyle Dykes

What music did you listen to when you were younger? How about now? Have your tastes changed?

Beatles, Stones, Grateful Dead, Cream That was a long time ago, if course my tastes have changes.

Has technology and social media helped you connect with new and older fans? Are there any challenges you have faced trying use the Internet to further your career?

I have a lot of social media, Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, there all out there but they have not really helped me.

Have you noticed a significant change in the music business as it has evolved from the pre-technology phase into its current state?

Yes, the internet of great.

What do you have planned for the rest of 2014?

Keep pluggin’ away.
