James Payne

Bio

From the Frayser area in the heart of NORTH MEMPHIS, TN hails this dirty southern MC with a bite equal to that of his vicious bark. James Payne also known to many as The Lethal Son earned his name for his aggressive and rambunctious style of delivering sizzling vocals over bass heavy beats. The Lethal Son has been rocking mics and punishing competitors since the adolescent age of 13. Now a fully developed and seasoned lyricist James Payne stands ready to take on a larger stage and reach a more diverse audience. Recently documented for his legal troubles and 5 year absence from the music scene, James “The Lethal Son” Payne stands posed to regain ground and reclaim his position he stood so close to attaining before his personal life struggles. Payne has recorded 3 albums worth of material before his departure from the Memphis music scene and since his return to Tennessee hip hop, he boast of another 40 plus tracks ready to be unleashed on the public. The question now is, ARE YOU READY? The most intriguing fact about this artist is though he possesses such a deep catalog of material, outside of 2 underground mixtapes Payne has never been commercially released as a solo artist. This does not seem to bother the rather cool and collected lethal one. He sees this as an opportunity to start over and silence his former critics.

“I been doing this for a while and I understand what I’m getting into. The game has changed since I left, and now that I’m back the game will change again. I am here to please me and the people that stood by me. That is who I make my music for and if you like it then this is for you too. I got something for everybody to jam to and I look forward to the road ahead of me.” (James Payne) Tracks like “What Cha Doin” and “Played My Role” symbolize his state of mind while enduring his legal battles, while “What’s Your Destination” and “Call Me” are tailored for some late night bedroom activities. “Limelight” and “Who Am I” show Lethal Son’s ability over major productions and newer tracks like “Tell Me Where You Wanna Be” and “Taking Hits” are sure to create a buzz around this Tennessee talent. Other notable songs soon to be unveiled are “Envying Me”, “Can’t Stop Blazing”. Also, the underground heater “I’m Back” produced by creditable Memphis based producer Hot Rod who is also known for his production role of “5 Star Chick”, a collaboration with Memphis talent, Yo Gotti that saw Billboard charts success.

If you wish to hear more from this rising star stayed close to your computer screen and pull up James Payne’s ReverbNation, Facebook or Myspace.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
