Westchester, New York-bred, Savannah, Georgia-based emcee Miggs presents the Adam Bailey-directed music video for “Knowhateyemean?”, the new Stage AGE-produced single from his forthcoming solo debut album Son Of A Gun, dropping on Savannah-based label Dope Sandwich, whose roster also includes F.E.B. and label head KNife. Son Of A Gun is set to feature guest vocals from KNife as well as Werd Life, Obeah, Kontent and Miggs’ brother Freak Tha Monsta, who produced almost the entire album. Miggs dropped his first mixtape in 2009, soon joining 8-piece band Word Of Mouth, which contributes live instrumentation and vocals to Son Of A Gun. Miggs has shared the stage with Masta Killa, Curren$y and Skrillex. Miggs describes “Knowhateyemean” as “a psychedelic trip through my twisted imagination, intended to sound experimental and humerous but still be pretty lyrical.” KNife describes “Knowhateyemean” as “one of those special moments when a beat is just undeniably ill, and then the MC just spits straight up BARS and murders it. People can nod their heads or whatever, but other rappers can listen to it and be like ‘yo he’s going in.'” Son Of A Gun drops May 19 on Dope Sandwich. As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
