Little Bihlman Debuts “Fade Away” as First Release on V13 Music, Marking a Bold New Chapter

by Leslie Sherman August 8, 2025 9:00 am Tagged With: little bihlman, singer, songwriter

Little Bihlman, the Emmy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist and frontman of Grinder Blues and The Bihlman Bros., returns with purpose on his new single “Fade Away.” Released as the debut track from V13 Media Group’s new label, V13 Music, the song marks a significant moment for both the artist and the imprint. With raw emotional power and an unfiltered edge, “Fade Away” serves as the first glimpse into Bihlman’s forthcoming solo album, Heavy Head, scheduled for release in 2025.

LISTEN TO “FADE AWAY” HERE

Raised between the industrial backbone of Indiana and the wooded terrain of Northern Michigan, Bihlman brings a unique blend of grit and soul to his work. That duality is present in “Fade Away,” a track that pulses with defiance, resilience, and the kind of emotional weight that only comes from hard-earned experience. From the opening guitar riff to the final cymbal crash, the song feels immediate and lived-in. It is a performance shaped by years on the road, inside studios, and navigating the long, unpredictable arc of a creative life.

Bihlman, born Scot Bihlman, has long been a fixture in American roots rock. Over the past two decades, he has played everything from juke joints to the White House, building a career rooted in versatility and authenticity. His resume includes collaborations with a wide range of artists such as John Fogerty, Jelly Roll, BB King, Trey Anastasio, and dUg Pinnick. As a songwriter and composer, his work has been featured in more than 30 television placements, including Sons of Anarchy, Burn Notice, and All My Children.

“Fade Away” captures all of that history and distills it into something focused and urgent. It does not rely on spectacle or overproduction. Instead, the song thrives on space and tension. Its lean arrangement provides a cinematic quality that moves like headlights through midnight fog. Bihlman’s vocal delivery is measured and gripping, never trying too hard but saying everything he needs to. The track hits with the clarity of someone who no longer needs permission to speak.

There is a sense of freedom coursing through the recording, a looseness that is both refreshing and intentional. For Bihlman, this is about returning to the root of his connection with music. It is not about chasing chart positions or conforming to expectations. It is about truth, stripped of polish and pretense.

“Fade Away” carries the weight of long nights on the road, empty green rooms, cramped vans, missed calls, and fleeting highs, the real stuff that fuels a lifetime in music. And yet there’s a looseness to it. A freedom. You can hear it in the way the drums snap, the way his voice rides the edge of each phrase. It’s not about proving anything. It’s about telling the truth.

That ethos runs through everything Bihlman creates. Whether fronting a band or performing solo, he is known for commanding the stage from behind the mic, the guitar, or the drum kit. His performances are grounded in emotional storytelling, tapping into the soul of Americana while maintaining the urgency of rock and roll. He often describes his sound as “motorcycle poetry for truth-seekers,” a phrase that rings especially true on “Fade Away.”

What sets this release apart is not just its sound, but its intention. “Fade Away” is not chasing attention. It is delivering a message. There is no need to posture or over-explain. The song speaks for itself, and in doing so, reminds listeners that certain voices only grow more powerful with time. This is not the work of someone trying to break in. It is the work of someone who never left, and who has sharpened their tools with every mile, show, and lesson learned along the way.

Produced by Miles Fulwider, the upcoming album Heavy Head will continue to explore themes of resilience, vulnerability, and the real-life stories that shape identity. The project also aligns with Bihlman’s broader creative pursuits, including the 2025 relaunch of his vintage-Americana apparel line, Hillbilly Royalty, which mirrors the same honest, blue-collar spirit found in his music.

“Fade Away” signals more than a new single. It signals a return to form for an artist who has lived the highs and lows of a life in music and emerged more focused, more honest, and more determined than ever. It is also the beginning of a promising chapter for V13 Music, whose decision to launch with this track suggests a commitment to depth and authenticity.

Little Bihlman is not just releasing a song. He is reclaiming a voice that refuses to disappear. “Fade Away” is a bold first step, and the road ahead promises even more.
