Live Hart’s Honesty

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman February 13, 2015 4:13 pm Tagged With: Acoustic, R&B, Soul

Honesty by Live HartNew Jersey born singer/songwriter Live Hart has arrived with her debut solo album Honesty.

I think of myself first and foremost as a songwriter. I love to tell stories through song and melody, simply using the guitar as a vehicle to convey those stories.”

Taking up various instruments as a youngster with the encouragement of her parents, Live Hart is music.

Joining Pop/R&B girl group Urbanesque further honed her skills as a creative performer. After four years of priceless experience and learning the group disbanded. Live Hart had to figure out what was next.

Once the group disbanded,” she shares, “I really started taking my solo efforts seriously because music is what I’ve always wanted to do. And there was nothing else that was really completed me at the time. I went back to school, I worked different jobs, but ultimately, I was left feeling empty and unfulfilled and it was because music wasn’t part of my life full-time.”

Now it was time for her to focus on the music – writing, recording, and perfecting her guitar skills. Teaming up with Shaun Fisher (Mandy Moore, Gloria Estefan) helped take Live Hart’s career to the next level.

Shaun Fisher is my true mentor and is someone who really believed in me three years ago, really taking a chance writing and creating the album with me.”

Honesty is the result of Live Hart‘s life work and experiences. Everything has led up to this moment. So how does it sound?

India.Arie decided Tracy Chapman and John Mayer would make some awesome songwriting partners but not before asking Sara Bareilles to step in to add that extra punch… that’s what Honesty sounds like, honestly.

A beautiful voice, honest/relatable stories, and a woman aligned with her passion have created a soulful sound bed that fans of any genre can lie upon and thoroughly enjoy.
