Michael McQuaid Unleashes Smooth Sounds On New Single 26 Miles featuring Hudson East

Michael McQuaid-26 Miles

Great songs always come with interesting stories behind them. 26 Miles by Nashville based Michael McQuaid is no exception.

It was a few years ago. Michael was going through a heavy party phase and found himself too hungover to keep a scheduled date with “the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen”. As a way to deal with the mix of feelings hitting him from both the hangover and missing this special date, Michael began writing what would eventually become the final version of 26 Miles.

After spending a couple weeks persuading Jasmine (the gorgeous woman) to reschedule their date, Michael set aside 26 Miles and it was lost in time as he found himself in a blossoming relationship with the woman who tamed his inner party animal. Michael found the lyrics to 26 Miles while the couple were moving into their new habitat and decided it was time to finish the song.

The result is a soulful, memorable, modern R&B jam with smooth vocals, crisp hi-hats, and a soothing, crooning sound bed featuring the artistic contributions of UK rapper Hudson East.

26 Miles will get stuck in your head. You will want to jam it more than once. You might as well go ahead and add it to your playlist. You can jam the song on Soundcloud.

Originally from Dallas and now based in Nashville, be on the watch for Michael’s refreshing brand of R&B. He is currently working with top talent in Music City to further expand his creative abilities and his brand.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard R&B like this.
