Mid Tenn Listens Live 80 – Bella Loka, Justin Stein, Opposite the Satellite and more

by C Bret Campbell October 23, 2014 10:30 am Tagged With: podcast

This week on Mid Tenn Listens Live our panel of music enthusiasts review songs from Bella Loka, Justin Stein, The Reformation Band, Opposite the Satellite, and Karen Bernod.

Watch the episode in full below or continue to the next page to hear each review individually. You can also subscribe on iTunes or Stitcher Radio.

We had a blast this week! OK, it’s a blast every week.

Once again, five very worthy submissions gave us all a lot to think about and enjoy. We heard some astounding vocals, beautiful synth and guitar parts, spacey reggae beats, big drums and oh so many more tasties! We also got to pick on Abbey Road a bit 😉

A few quotes from the event page:

… Reminds me of Eartha kit in some parts, easy listening, type of music to be creative while listening…

…sorry certain guitar sections hurt my ears and make my brain vibrate painfully,…

…Very interesting, maybe my computer but it sounded like the backing was being played backwards ??
Other than I enjoyed the vocals and could shimmy throughout the day …

… I am really digging the show.  I think other folks really have a good time getting together and doing this sort of hangout.  It is very insightful and without this show, I wouldn’t be listening to as much new music as I would normally do.  So yeah…. keep up the good work….

…I have re-listened to the tracks we reviewed on my studio monitors, and wow, I like the Opposite of Satellite track “Low” even more. If the opportunity arises, I would suggest the everyone check the tracks out without the cans, I was truly impressed more with all of the bands, it was a great playlist…

…I have cranked up the tunes through the Events and Wow! And I still like the+BELLA LOKA track… love her voice. …

…I still wanna see The reformation band perform “Lady in Red” live though, that is the only way to play that track…

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
