Bio

The current incarnation of this band resides in Murfreesboro TN. John and Pat are from Chicago and moved down here to escape a loan shark named Vinnie. Marshall comes from Indiana originally but has lived in Murfreesboro for a while now working as a migrant turnip green farmer. Barrett is from Mississippi and gets paid to watch various TV shows and movies. Stephen is a TN native and a paranoid schizophrenic.

– In January of 2011, Moonshine Matinee recorded 7 songs live with long-time friend Emily Nejad at The Bomb Shelter Studio in East Nashville titled, “The Devil Dare Not Cross”. The full album is available for purchase and free download at www.moonshinematinee.bandcamp.com

– Moonshine Matinee recorded their first EP “Hellbent Drunk And Young” in early Summer of 2010 with Tom Hearne of The Working Dogs. Tom brought his entire recording studio to the band house one night and tracked all the instruments live with minimal isolation. Most songs were done in one take and the entire EP was tracked in four hours. The fast-paced atmosphere lent to heavy drinking, especially on John’s part. At the end of the last song, you can hear house resident Mike Calleros (now old as shit) run into the tracking room and yell “Hawks Win!!!” as the tape was rolling. That was the night the Chicago Blackhawks won the Cup, a sign Confucius would deem as “good fortune.”

Cheers!
