Katie-Quick

Nashville, TN, April 21, 2013–Nashville singer/songwriter, Katie Quick, appeared on the Katie Couric Show on Tuesday, February 19 in a special performance segment called, “One to Watch!”  Katie was chosen from thousands of video submissions for a chance to audition for legendary music producer Clive Davis and former American Idol star, Jordin Sparks.

Katie Quick received rave reviews from Jordin and Clive on her stage presence and voice.  Katie Couric applauded Quick on founding The Fingertips Program of educational and inspirational school assemblies that combines live music with motivational speaking, encouraging students to find their passion and follow their dreams. As a prize for being selected as a “One to Watch!,”  Quick has received a cameo appearance in the Broadway musical Rock of Ages on March 12.  The performance will be filmed by the Katie Couric Show for a future episode.

“The experience on the Katie Couric Show was truly incredible. To be able to audition for such an accomplished music mogul as Clive Davis was a once in a lifetime opportunity, not to mention, I was able to talk to Katie Couric about my Fingertips Program which was amazing.  I was able to show all of the students I mentor that hard work and determination will always pay off, and I was able to prove that through this opportunity,” adds Quick.

A clip of Quick’s appearance on the program can be seen here.  Katie Quick is available for interviews.

About Katie Quick:

Nearly five years ago, Katie Quick was leading a double life.  By day, she was a 6th grade teacher in the Chicago Public Schools. But by night, she was singing with her band and dreaming of country music stardom.  She made the tough decision to leave the classroom not only follow her dream, but to SHOW her students that anything was possible. Katie has since achieved immense success as an independent singer/songwriter, writing, recording, touring, and appearing on hundreds of television shows and radio stations, all without the help of a record label. In 2010, she launched The Fingertips Program, an inspirational school assembly that combines live music with motivational speaking, encouraging students to find their passion and follow their dreams. In only two short years, her music and message have inspired over 50,000 students all across the country, making her a truly unique artist with something so much more to offer than just her music.  For more information, please visit www.katiequick.com

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
