Brian Mackey Releases Honest LoveRe-mixed and re-mastered version impacts radio today

August 19, 2014, New York, NY… NYC-based singer/songwriter Brian Mackey announces the re-release of his successful single “Honest Love” in a new version for radio. Back by popular demand, the critically acclaimed EP has been re-mixed and re-mastered with producer Sam Ashworth (Lone Bellow) and engineer Richie Biggs (Civil Wars) in Nashville, TN and hits radio stations in the U.S. and in Canada today. The breakout EP by the same name features hit singles “Color Blue” and “Florida” in addition to the popular “Honest Love” track.

To kick-off the re-release, Brian is joining Feed the Arts for their showcase tonight, August 19, at the legendary Gibson Guitars Showroom in NYC. Brian will be performing “Honest Love” as well as premiering a handful of new songs, and participating in an in-depth interview with Feed the Arts. “I’m excited,” says Mackey. “Feed the Arts has a pretty innovative idea going on with their Time Funding Projects and I’m happy to be a part of it. It’s a cool new way to support super-independent artists, and I can’t wait to swing by the Gibson Showroom and show ’em what we’ve got.”

Brian’s forthcoming album, Broken Heartstrings, will be dropping this fall. New tracks from the album include standouts like the Cat Stevens-inflected “Captain of the Moon” and the eerie Americana cut “The Day.” The first single from the new album is a folksy ode to the cross-country road trip entitled “America,” and is available at iTunes as well as all major digital retailers including Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, and eMusic. Fans may also purchase a physical copy of “America” at www.BrianMackeyMusic.com. The official music video for Brian’s new single “America,” shot on the road to Nashville with acclaimed director Nick Cavalier, will be coming this fall.

Mackey’s music and film credits include features in several recent movie soundtracks and television shows for both “Color Blue” and “Honest Love” from Mackey’s Honest Love EP. Features include:  The Boys of Abu Graib with actors Sara Paxton (Last House on the Left) and Sean Austin (Lord of the Rings); 29,000 Wishes, 1 Regret directed by Oliver Robins (Poltergeist); Fake directed by Gregory Friedle, with Robert Loggia and Gabriel Mann; and Fathoms Deep. Mackey’s “Out On the Road” was also featured in Anthony Bourdain’s The Layover on the Travel Channel. Unicef and Caldwell Banker have tapped into Mackey for their recent worldwide advertising and video campaigns and Mackey has been named a Supercuts® Rock the Cut Artist Ambassador for two years running. In 2012, Mackey showcased as a Viso Music Feature Artist and a U.S. Airways In-Flight Radio Feature Artist. Mackey was also featured on the Songs of Love for Japan compilation in 2011 alongside stars like Sara Bareilles, Ani DiFranco and Tori Amos.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
