Premiere: Erika Sherger’s Hauntingly Beautiful New Video for “Parkway Queen”

by Leslie Sherman August 22, 2025 11:30 am Tagged With: singer, songwriter

Erika Sherger unveils the stunning new video for her song “Parkway Queen”, a visual journey that perfectly captures the atmosphere of the track. The video blends striking natural imagery with intimate performance, as Sherger sings while scenes of traveling through the woods, winding roads, and fleeting glimpses of nature unfold around her. The shifting landscapes mirror the song’s emotional terrain, drawing the viewer deeper into its sense of searching, movement, and reflection.

The video’s cinematic style sets the tone for “Parkway Queen”—a song that fuses Erika’s indie folk, Americana, and alt-country sensibilities with lyrical storytelling that resonates with honesty and vulnerability. Her voice, rich and evocative, anchors the visuals, weaving together the contrasts of solitude and connection, stillness and motion.

For Sherger, music has always been about more than sound—it’s a way to process life, memory, and change. Raised on the sounds of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, she began her own songwriting journey as a personal outlet, eventually bringing her songs to the stage in 2018. Since then, she has become a vital presence in the Northern New Jersey music scene, known for her heartfelt performances in listening rooms, songwriter circles, and community spaces.

With her third studio album, Wrap Me Up in Colored Feathers, arriving in summer 2025, Sherger continues to evolve as an artist. Produced by Damian Calcagne at PineBox Studio, the record showcases a stellar lineup of musicians and further expands her sonic palette. Following her debut EP Like Birds (2021) and full-length album Bad Wolf (2023), this upcoming release promises to be her most layered and confident work to date.

The premiere of “Parkway Queen” highlights what makes Erika Sherger such a compelling voice in contemporary folk and Americana: her ability to pair raw, emotionally resonant storytelling with visuals and sounds that feel both timeless and immediate.
