I’m always just a lot nervous when I launch into something called a “mixtape.” Frankly, I’m old-school, man – a mixtape is something you put together with a dubbing cassette deck for the car… But a lot of things surprise me these days, like Rekless Life  from Boy Rekless, which is more like a short pop record or long EP, that hits the ring swingin’ and kicks ass straight through to the last round.

Coolness all through with real and sampled instruments, great beats, fresh sounds and intensity throughout. Easy to listen to, but gritty and tough, in your face lyrics and straight from the fight of life story-telling meet with vocal, instrumental and “behind the desk” talent to create a top shelf record that deserves a spot on your play list.

Honestly,  downloading a file called “mixtape,” I was thinking, “oh, man I hope I can make it through this.” Well I’m on the 5th time through, and I’ll do it again, too! Put your money down, folks! This one here, she’s a winner!
