Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Serengety Songs has released her debut EP, Metallic Clouds; a soulful trip hop experience.

I had never heard Serengety before but when I went to like her Facebook page I was shocked to find my brother in music and touring, Lumis from The Beatjackers, holding it down on the 1’s & 2’s in some of her photos. What a small world…

But back to the Metallic Clouds EP.

The title refers to being under dark clouds that drench you with something heavier than rain,” she explains. “The message of the album is about overcoming and self-improvement. Writing this was like therapy for me.”

An alternative artist whose creativity spans across multiple genres of influence, Serengety combines elements of Hip Hop, soul, rock and pop to create a unique aural experience.

Having performed on stages in venues such as The Roxy, Viper Room, House of Blues and Temple Bar, Serengety continues that momentum with the release of her Metallic Clouds EP.

Containing 5 strong tracks, the one that sticks out the most is “Go“. The EP also contains an alternate version of this song. About the single, Serengety says,

That song sums up the metallic clouds idea which is: If you know in your heart there is something you need to do, than just go do it,” she says. “It’s about making things happen and overcoming inner struggles.”
