SIREN Rediscover Their Spark With New Album “Listen”

by Leslie Sherman October 22, 2025 1:00 pm Tagged With: 2025, album, Folk, indie rock, new music, Rock, singer, songwriter, United States

There’s something really satisfying about hearing a band hit its stride decades into its career.

With Listen, their new album out now, South Florida’s SIREN prove that time and tenacity can forge something stronger than youthful bravado.

Frontman Rob Phillips has been leading SIREN since the band’s original formation in the 1980’s, and his voice carries the kind of weathered conviction that can’t be faked.

Along with drummer and co-producer Mike Cupino, Phillips has kept SIREN alive through countless reinventions, and Listen is like the moment where everything finally clicks. The addition of guitarist Tanner Hendon and vocalist Beth Cohen injects new life into the band’s sound, steering it towards a shimmering, radio ready melodic rock that never loses its human touch.

Engineered by Wyatt Oates at Madison Studios in Atlanta, Listen bursts out of the gate with “Small Town,” a bittersweet love letter to youth and memory. It’s the kind of song that belongs on a dusty highway with the windows down. And it’s easy to see why the accompanying music video, directed by Isaac Dietz (Manchester Orchestra, Grouplove, Switchfoot) became a viral hit with over one million views on TikTok. Nostalgia, it turns out, still sells but when it is honest it also resonates.

From there, Listen unfolds with a mix of punch and poetry. “Dead Beggar” stomps forward with muscular guitars and a big chorus. “Arrow” sharpens the band’s melodic instincts with crisp riffs and a soaring hook, while “Nightmare Paradise” blends a darker lyrical edge with gleaming production polish. Each song stands solidly on its own, but together they form a unified portrait of a band reconnecting with its essence.

The title track, “Listen,” carries one of the album’s most intriguing origin stories. It is a collaboration with fans from Germany, one of whom had never even played guitar before. What could have become just a novelty on this record, is a simple and heartfelt tune that embodies the album’s overarching message of connection, openness and the power of creativity shared.

For a band with deep roots, Listen doesn’t look backward. It doesn’t chase the sound of who they once were but embraces who they have become. The result is an album that is fresh and that invited you to truly listen.

About SIREN

With a history dating back to the 1980s, SIREN is known for their fusion of melodic rock, progressive and blues influences. Since their formation in the 80s’, the band has built a dedicated fan base and earned critical acclaim for their innovative sound.

Led by Rob Phillips and drummer/engineer Mike Cupino, SIREN have continued to evolve.

Their new album Listen builds on the success of their previous work. Here Phillips and Cupino have embarked on a journey to explore a Middle American roots rock sound, creating songs that capture the essence of everyday experiences, from youth’s innocence to adulthood’s complexities.
