by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman August 10, 2016 11:10 am Tagged With: Alternative, Country, electronica, Folk, Rock, United Kingdom

Eastern Swell-Rattling Bones

Some bands appear to arrive fully formed from the off. All their influences, musical stylings and concepts are in place, the flaws ironed out, right through to the final execution with every piece intact. The Eastern Swell are one such beast. An Anglo-Scottish outfit, formed in Edinburgh in 2014, the final pieces of the jigsaw […]

Billy Fox-Avalanche

It’s been something of an auspicious introduction to Billy Fox, the Sydney-based musician, producer, writer and experimental purveyor of thought-provoking electronica. Launching late- 2013 with the soulful ‘Monuments’, the new project was born simply out of perfect timing – one project ended, another naturally needed to begin. Writing began and the simple mantra of “If […]

Faustina-Wait For Me

Swedish electronica/rock band Faustina has released a new single Wait For Me now streaming on Spotify. An electronica infused single, Wait For Me lends itself to a rock-ier edge as the distorted, muted guitar comes in driving you deeper into the synthesized frequencies. Blending various elements into a Depeche-esque record, Faustina has created something fresh […]

Electronic Pop Band with Captivating Musical Depth

The Pinstripe Pigeon Band

The catchy Motown vibe of The Pinstripe Pigeon Band‘s music drew me in as the distinct musical elements held my attention. My first listen I was expecting a simple upbeat electronic pop tune and was pleasantly surprised as the musical layers continued to build into an intricate instrumental accompaniment, supporting and complimenting the vocals. The […]

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
