Letters, Bourbon and Resolve – Inside George Collins’s “By the Time”

by Leslie Sherman August 19, 2025 11:21 am Tagged With: 2025, Americana, Folk, indie rock, music video, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

George Collins’s latest single “By the Time” is accompanied by a fantastic music video that takes a timeless country trope – the “Dear John” letter – and re-imagines it with warmth, grit and cinematic flair.

Shot on location at Max’s Steakhouse in Prague, the video places Collins in the middle of a dimly lit barroom, guitar in hand, as he inhabits the role of the weary but resolute narrator ready to close one chapter of his life. The setting is immediately intimate, the kind of bar where the walls carry the weight of countless unspoken stories, and it’s the perfect backdrop for a song about endings and the promise of moving on.

Reeya Banerjee’s “Misery of Place” asks the question we’re all afraid to answer – is it where you are, or who you are?

Reeya Banerjee’s “Misery of Place” kicks open the door to her upcoming album “This Place” with a power chord.

At first listen, it’s a swaggering 90’s inspired pop rock track with crunchy guitars and a sharp vocal delivery. But underneath the smirk lies a song wrestling with something deeper – how the places we live shape the people we become.

Kristy Chmura’s Latest Release “Wake Up” Finds Urgency and Grace in a World on Fire

by Leslie Sherman May 1, 2025 6:03 am Tagged With: 2025, indie, music video, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

There are protest songs that rage and then there are songs like Kristy Chmura’s “Wake Up” – quiet but resolute.

Originally released in 2018 on her debut solo album “Stained…Glass Heart”, “Wake Up” was born from deep ecological sorrow and a long-simmering desire to do something in the face of overwhelming climate change and environmental loss. In 2025, that call feels more urgent than ever and Chmura has answered it.

Sparks and Seduction in MASSEY’s New Release “Tattoo My Heart”

by Leslie Sherman March 5, 2025 7:02 am Tagged With: 2025, music video, new music, Pop, Rock, singer, songwriter, United States

MASSEY’s “Tattoo My Heart” isn’t just another rock song – it’s a shot of pure adrenaline.

There is no build up, no hesitation, just straight into the fire with Peter Oravetz and Daniel Groover trading licks like they’re summoning something. Charlie Wooton holds it all down with a bassline that moves like a heartbeat, while Doug Belote’s drumming is all muscle and momentum pushing everything forward like a train that’s got no intention of stopping.

Brooks John Martin’s New Single “Clear Blue Waters” – A Reflection of Resilience, Now with a Visual Journey Along the Pacific Highway

by Leslie Sherman January 20, 2025 5:20 am Tagged With: 2025, Folk, music video, New Single, Rock, singer, songwriter, United States

There’s something about Brooks John Martin’s new single “Clear Blue Waters” that hits a little deeper right now.

Maybe it’s the haunting stillness of the song, or the way it feels like a quiet reprieve from the chaos.

it couldn’t have come at a more poignant moment, especially in the wake of California’s recent wildfires. The song itself, gentle and introspective, now finds an even more profound dimension with the release of its accompanying music video, filmed along the iconic Pacific Coast Highway.

Exploring the Hidden Depths in Stephen Jaymes’s Latest Single Release “The Evidence Against Her”

by Leslie Sherman October 28, 2024 8:05 am Tagged With: 2024, Folk, music video, New Single, Rock, singer, songwriter, United States

Singer songwriter Stephen Jaymes returns with a gripping new single “The Evidence Against Her”.

This is a haunting follow-up to his recent single release “Saving Daylight”, timed perfectly for the eerie ambiance of the autumn season.

“The Evidence Against Her” is the sixth from his upcoming debut LP “King Jaymes”, which explores the unnerving psychological landscape of a man who believes that his Jungian anima, or his spiritual muse, has turned against him. In typical Jaymes fashion, the song is emotionally charged and rich in lyrics, bringing listeners into a stormy world of self-reflection and internal struggle.

Jason Sinay’s new single, “High Plains Drifter”, is a mesmerizing glimpse into his forthcoming double album called “The Mountain”, set for release in early January 2025.

Bud E. Luv Revitalizes the Classic “Music to Watch Girls By” with Modern Elegance

by Leslie Sherman October 11, 2024 10:42 am Tagged With: 2024, Jazz, music video, singer, songwriter, United States

Bobby Vickers, under his alter ego Bud E. Luv, breathes new life into the classic song “Music to Watch Girls By” with a captivating re-interpretation that feels both timeless and strikingly modern.

Known for his ability to re-imagine old standards, Bud E. Luv transforms the song from a light-hearted, somewhat dated piece into a sophisticated reflection on beauty and human connection.

In this rendition, Luv’s voice is smooth yet layered with emotion, stripping away any of the kitschy charm that some earlier versions may have leaned into, like Andy Williams’ well-known but polished take.
