by Featured Guest June 25, 2012 7:44 am Tagged With: Rock

Irene by Mize and the Drive

MusicTree alumni and rock superstars-to-be, Mize and the Drive dropped off a copy of Irene shortly after their set on opening night of the festival. Based out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee – Mize and the Drive are a rock group heavily influced by bands such as Dave Matthews Band, Wilco and the Greatful Dead. Though influenced […]

The Glenrock Pistols have packed up their six shooter and headed out west. They stopped Thursday night to play in downtown Austin and check out the local scene then on to The Magnolia Motor Lounge in Ft. Worth Saturday night with the Whiskey Folk Ramblers. This is a must see band if you are in […]

Full Breathing Costume by Mythical Motors (album review)

by Featured Guest June 22, 2012 9:11 am Tagged With: Pop, Psychedelic, Punk, Rock

Mythical Motors is a powerpop quintet from Chattanooga Tennessee. They are self described as sometimes rock, sometimes punk, always pop, always drunk. Recently I had the privelege of seeing them at the MusicTree Fest and their live show does not disappoint. Afterwards Mid TN Music got ahold of their release Full Breathing Costume. The feel […]

Local Spotlight – Joy of Painting

by Featured Guest June 20, 2012 2:23 pm Tagged With: Pop, Punk, Rock

Asterisk from Joy of Painting may be one of my favorite EP’s of this young summer. Joy of Painting is self-described as a two car garage pop quintet out of Nashville, TN and if Asterisk is any indication there is a long stream of great music coming our way from these guys. Starting with “Old […]

Local Spotlight – Ghost Ballerinas

by Featured Guest June 17, 2012 9:32 am Tagged With: Rock

The Ghost Ballerina’s, loosely based out of Shelbyville Tennessee, are a 3 piece Indie rock / alt rock group that recently sent Middle Tennessee Music their sophomore EP Play Me On The Radio – released in April. Play Me On The Radio is a solid group of songs starting from the lead single “Laser Beak Man”, […]

Deep in the Goldroom preparation for MusicTree

by C Bret Campbell May 29, 2012 2:16 am Tagged With: Rock

We’ve been trying to work out a cool interview with Shane, Kevin, Joey, and Darren of The Goldroom of Murfreesboro for a long time, now – ever since we reviewed their record, “The Surrounding Hours.” We all wanted to do something special, but timing, man, timing… Anyways, after sending us a cool interview in text, they […]

MusicTree to welcome Tribe of Midnight

by C Bret Campbell May 27, 2012 5:38 pm Tagged With: Rock

Tribe of Midnight spoke with JediBret via G+ Hangouts on Air, the other day for  a video interview. They were also kind enough to send in the text version. Kristal, Dustin, Alec, Shown and Grant are laying down some serious Southern Rock for the middle Tennessee area, and will be performing at the MusicTree Festival in Manchester. […]

Between Perception and Regret by Transcend the Fallen (review)

by Featured Guest May 26, 2012 9:53 am Tagged With: Metal, Rock

Review By L.White “Do you Transcend?” That is the question put forth by Nashville, Tennessee’s 5-piece Melodic Hard Rock band Transcend the Fallen. I received TTF’s debut full-length CD “Between Perception and Regret” having only been offered that one sentence about the band. So I set out to find an answer to the ambiguous question. […]

Mythical Motors on to Manchester, Interview with MTM

by C Bret Campbell May 14, 2012 8:50 pm Tagged With: Pop, Rock

Music Tree Festival is upon us, and Mythical Motors will bring their power-pop to town, with a sound and style myths are made of! From the Choo-Choo, to the heart of Middle Tennessee, the airwaves are ready for a vibe like this. The buzz of Bonnaroo has things primed, and Manchester Tennessee is pulling out […]

Interview with The Goldroom

by C Bret Campbell May 14, 2012 2:53 pm Tagged With: Alternative, Rock

The Goldroom will be at the   Music Tree Festival, on Friday, June 1st at 10:45PM at the Two Purple Pigs outdoor stage.  Kevin, Shane, Darin, and Joey took some time to answer a few questions. You might find them intriguing. These hard-rockin’ Middle Tennessee maniacs through a touch of humor into everything they do… I’ll leave it to […]

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
