by Leslie Sherman September 22, 2023 8:53 am Tagged With: singer, songwriter

Staytus is the musical alter-ego of Arizona-based recording prodigy Sam Grundemann, who fuses the immersive sensibility of gaming culture and the moody, stylized futurism of anime with Gen X-inspired angst, all set to a serrated electro-industrial goth metal soundtrack.  A black-winged avatar come to deliver reckoning for the onslaught of challenges today’s young adults have to […]

by Leslie Sherman September 20, 2023 4:11 pm Tagged With: singer, songwriter

A one man show, 19-year-old Aidan Skira’s vision is all his own: self-taught, self-produced, self-animated. With early traction on SoundCloud and tastemaker YouTube channels, he is now becoming a staple in the underground live music scene in Toronto. Hailing from Brooklyn, the wordsmith Jason Vitelli is venturing into uncharted musical territory with his latest project, “1. by Leslie Sherman September 20, 2023 3:59 pm Tagged With: singer, songwriter

Dead Levee is a 4-piece old-school, no-nonsense rock band consisting of members Tayler “Izzy” Morgan, Ray Klapatiuk, Rylan “Buck” Dusyk, and Preston Laschuk. Their aggressive, organic, and attitude-driven style harkens back to the high energy rock of the late 60’s with the attitude of 90’s rock.  Playing alongside established bands such as Chilliwack, The Trews, […]

East coast singer-songwriter Norma MacDonald finishes the ethereal song “The Heart Wants” after 12 years in the making

by Leslie Sherman September 20, 2023 3:45 pm Tagged With: singer, songwriter

On her sixth album, singer-songwriter Norma MacDonald explores new songwriting tactics, reimagines old demos, and conducts sound experimentations that expand her folk and country influences into 60s pop, Motown harmonies, and jangly early millennium indie-rock.  “The Heart Wants” was actually a song that was written back in 2011. However, it never fit in with her […]

On Harvest Highway (Out Oct. 13), Jimmy Rankin hits the road again, time traveling and traversing far-flung destinations—along with his native Nova Scotia—through his singular brand of East Coast folk-rock. He nods to Nova Scotia’s Highway 101—running through the fertile Annapolis Valley and down the southern shore of the Bay of Fundy—with the album’s wistful […]

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
