The Americans Keep It Real in 2023

by Leslie Sherman March 10, 2023 12:16 pm

The Americans are a Los Angeles-based roots rock band with a passion for preserving the authentic sounds of American music. Their third full-length album, “Stand True,” is a soulful tribute to the blues, country, and rock and roll of the past, while also incorporating a modern sensibility that makes the music feel fresh and relevant.

Opening with the album’s title track, “Stand True,” is a standout moment that speaks to the band’s dedication to their craft and their commitment to staying true to their roots. The song is a driving, foot-stomping rocker that features blistering guitar work and a raucous rhythm section. Ferris delivers a commanding vocal performance, urging listeners to “stand true” and stay grounded in their values and beliefs.

Another standout track on the album is “Give Way” a catchy alt-country rock number that features some of the album’s strongest vocals. T

One of the album’s most touching moments comes in the form of “Romeo,” a haunting ballad that speaks to the power of love and the sacrifices we make for those we care about. Ferris delivers a tender vocal performance, accompanied by gentle instrumentation.

The album closes with “Here With You,” a driving piece that features some of the album’s most electrifying work and a propulsive rhythm section. The song is a fitting end to the album, leaving listeners energized and wanting more.

Overall, “Stand True” is a fantastic album that showcases The Americans’ incredible musicianship and their passion for true roots music. The band’s ability to seamlessly blend blues, country, and rock and roll is a testament to their talent, and the album is a must-listen for anyone who loves authentic, rootsy music. Whether you’re a fan of classic rock or modern Americana, “Stand True” is an album that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
