The Great G+ “Artists in the Plus Music Festival”

by C Bret Campbell December 13, 2012 12:35 am

This weekend, a group of independent musicians from locations that span the map will rock the interwebs via one of the most amazing things that has happened to the independent music community in the past year, G+ Hangouts on Air.

begins Saturday, 15 December 2012 at NOON Central and runs through 10 pm Sunday! 62 indie artists will perform from studios, basements, backyards, and pubs via Live hangouts.

John Voshell started the G+ page Artists in the Plus to help promote great music several months ago. He expresses how astounded he is at how it has taken off, and particularly how this event has been accepted in the interview below. James has been helping artists and AIP get things set up with tutoring, sound and video checks, and all manner of things. And as busy as he’s been with that, he still finds time to perform or participate live, almost everyday!

You will be able to view and comment LIVE here on the Event Page the day of the Event! Make sure to visit the new www.artistsintheplus.com

I spoke with John and James Olmos – whom one could consider a right hand man on the project – this evening.  After a long day of performances, sound checks and interviews, we still couldn’t contain the excitement and passion for what’s happening with this astounding adventure.

If you haven’t discovered the wonders of G+, yet, this would be a perfect opportunity. If you’re still all nervous, no problem, just watch it on youtube!

I’ve heard these artists and can say without a doubt that this will be one fantastic show! As the event is happening, others will also be hosting hangouts and interviews with the performers and fans. Keep your eyes open, the Mid-Tenn Jedi just might show up to host some of those interviews!

You can meet John over at Artists in the Plus and James on his site or join us all in our new Community for Music Professionals of G+.
