The Miles Before Hillary Reynolds Band

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman June 26, 2014 2:18 pm Tagged With: Americana, Folk, Pop

The Miles Before Us by Hillary Reynolds Band When you walk the road from coffee shops to sharing stages with Norah Jones, it’s safe to say the music is good. Meet the Hillary Reynolds Band.

The new album Miles Before Us is an enchanting voyage through a very soothing and enlightening pop, americana sound.

This five piece has been blogged about by popular fantasy author Patrick Rothfuss, featured on the front page of Reddit, and have been featured on several prominent radio stations across the land.

Instead of introducing the  members of the band, I’ll let one of them set the scene for you,

“Trevor’s neurotic, Hillary’s happy-go-lucky, I’m unnecessarily masculine, Chris is sarcastic and self-deprecating, and Connor’s apprehensive,” drummer Jeff Hale says laughing. “But seriously, Trevor’s efficient, Hillary’s warm and welcoming, I’m low-maintenance, Chris is hilarious, and Connor’s just the coolest one of the bunch.”

This cohesive unit of musicianship and creativity is responsible for the amazing sounds that emanate from this record. Their songwriting process is a lively creative dialogue with all hands on deck. The lead lady, Hillary, expounds on her inspirations,

“I get inspired by nature, especially the woods, and friendships, relationships, other people’s stories, as well as experiences on the road,” Hillary says.

Hillary recently released a solo EP. She donates all the proceeds to The Trina Fund, which is named after her mother who passed away from breast cancer. The fund’s purpose is to help diagnosed women receive the best breast cancer treatment possible. This is accomplished by providing resources to assist in transportation costs related to receiving second opinions or receiving their treatments.

Hillary Reynolds Band is one you want to put (and keep) on your radar. Show them your support, then connect on FB or Twitter.

The Miles Before Us will be available on July 8th.
