The Walking Sticks Send The Night

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman October 29, 2013 1:58 pm Tagged With: downtempo, Pop, synth

Send The Night CD Cover The Walking Sticks will grab your attention with their new and infectious, downtempo, dream-pop, trip-hop album Send The Night.

No, seriously… I clicked play 15 minutes ago and I am still repeating track 1.

Twin brothers Max and Spencer Ernst were only 16 years old when they signed to Cherry Lane Music (now BMG). They were the youngest artists on the roster next to stars such as John Legend and Black Eyed Peas.

Joining forces with the only other 18 year old in their area with a professional music career in motion, Chelsea Lee completed the trio. In 2009, Chelsea signed with Atlantic to release her solo debut 18 and Alive (2011).

Together the group was chosen as Deli Magazine’s National Artist of the Month for October 2013.

You can hear the guitar skills of The Eagles’ Steuart Smith on the group’s single “Send The Night” (track 1 mentioned above).

The group originally planned on creating roots groove and harmony but after Max and Spencer began collecting old synthesizers from garage sales their music began taking new directions.

Send The Night is the group’s newest EP and is a 5 song adventure through old school sound wave manipulation; bluesy, soothing vocals, and a modern twist to the long standing tradition of making great pop music.

This album is definitely a winner.

Unfortunately, you can’t get it until December 2013. Visit their website for the latest and greatest.
