Bio

Marco MarElectro-rock, new wave solo artist Marco Mar entered the Nashville music scene in the latter half of summer 2011 with the release of his “I Don’t Fear” video, which was directed by videographer, Devyn Betancourt. A month after the release of “I Don’t Fear”, Marco dropped his debut We Vibe EP, which is available on Bandcamp and iTunes. Deriving sonic influences from reggae, hip-hop, and indie rock, We Vibe’s production leans heavily on guitar-driven songs, electronic elements, and rhythmic vocal hooks.

Thematically, We Vibe outlines an introspective dialogue centered on youthful experience, personal duality, and the driven pursuit of one’s dreams. Since the release of the EP, Marco has recently put out a new video for the EP’s final track, “We Vibe (Reprise)”, which was directed by local videographer, Christian Wick. The video departs from “I Don’t Fear’s” organic presentation and enters a more personal, psychedelic, and emotional realm of the young artist’s character.

Marco is also currently working on several new projects. He and Tennessee hip-hop artist, Case Arnold, have begun a collaborative effort to create an electro-rock and hip-hop record featuring both artists’ distinctive composition and vocal styles. Marco is also working on his second personal release, which is set to drop in fall 2012. Still in the early development of his career, Marco continues to aim to deliver a unique experience for listeners through passionate lyricism, innovative production techniques, and stylistic invention.
