Gotta thank my buddy, Keith for turning me on to John Blake’s latest, “Your Light” (Upstormed). Here’s some cool hip-hop for ya with a great message, especially in these challenging times.

The first time I heard Blake’s tune, I had one of those “is he talking to me,” moments. Reminding me to stay true and thankful and drawing a theme on the old spiritual “This Little Light,” feeding a bit of my raising in there. I played it about half a dozen times over and then shared it privately with some friends, insisting that they listen and get some feel-good going for the day.

This tune has been my mantra for over a week, now. I keep sending it to friends, and a couple of the social pages that I help with have decided to feature it as well.

Smooth beats and a nice little bit of crunchy drive in the mix fit with delicious vocals and great writing to make this one of the best hip hop songs of the year!
