George Collins Keeps It Real with latest single “Open Up”

by Leslie Sherman July 7, 2025 2:41 pm Tagged With: 2025, indie, indie rock, new music, Pop, Prague, singer, songwriter, United States

“Open Up” feels like one of those songs that don’t need to prove anything. It arrives gently on the scene, patient and sincere.

George Collins has a talent for letting a song unfold naturally, and this one does just that. There’s a quiet confidence running through it that only comes from experience, both in life and in songwriting.

Reeya Banerjee Finds Herself in “For the First Time”

by Leslie Sherman June 21, 2025 5:18 am Tagged With: 2025, indie, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

Some songs hit you immediately with their polish or power. Others slip in slowly, like a memory you didn’t know you missed. That is where Reeya Banerjee’s “For the First Time” lives.

It’s the kind of track that doesn’t try to be flashy, but ends up being unforgettable because of how honestly it sits with you.

The second single from her upcoming album This Place, “For the First Time” is a reflective ballad about transformation – both quiet and profound. Written in hindsight but emotionally rooted in the kind of moment that reshapes you without warning, the song explores the slow realization that you’re falling in love not just with another person, but with your environment, your life and that version of yourself who’s starting to emerge.

“Crash” by Molly Thomas is a Haunting Meditation on Impact, Healing and Hope

by Leslie Sherman June 14, 2025 11:50 am Tagged With: 2025, Folk, indie, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

In her latest single “Crash,” Alabama based singer-songwriter Molly Thomas invites us into a moment of rupture. One that irrevocably altered her life.

Written in the aftermath of a near-fatal car accident, the song is less a retelling of the event than a slow-motion emotional rendering of its aftermath: the shock, the fragility, the pain, and, most poignantly, the unexpected grace of being cared for in the darkest hour.

Turning Pain Into Power: Stigma Seizes Their “Second Chance”

by Leslie Sherman June 12, 2025 2:14 pm Tagged With: 2025, Alternative, Germany, indie rock, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

For a band barely four years into their journey, Stigma sound like they’ve lived a thousand lives – and their full length debut “Second Chance” bears the weight of every one of them.

Gritty, melodic, and lyrically rich, this album is a defiant statement of identity and intent from a German alt metal act that refuses to be boxed in by genre conventions or industry trends.

When the Dream Changes – Havilah Tower’s Most Honest Song Yet in “Open Wide”

by Leslie Sherman June 9, 2025 5:15 am Tagged With: 2025, indie, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

Some songs arrive like a whisper that won’t leave you alone. Havilah Tower’s “Open Wide” is one of those.

This is a track that slowly unravels and asks the question – what happens when you finally realize the life you built may not be the life you really wanted?

Reeya Banerjee’s “Misery of Place” asks the question we’re all afraid to answer – is it where you are, or who you are?

by Leslie Sherman June 6, 2025 7:48 am Tagged With: 2025, indie rock, music video, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

Reeya Banerjee’s “Misery of Place” kicks open the door to her upcoming album “This Place” with a power chord.

At first listen, it’s a swaggering 90’s inspired pop rock track with crunchy guitars and a sharp vocal delivery. But underneath the smirk lies a song wrestling with something deeper – how the places we live shape the people we become.

A Slow Burn with Swagger – Lil’ Red & The Rooster Deal the Blues on “Stack ‘Em Up Baby”

With their new single “Stack ‘Em Up Baby,” Lil’ Red & The Rooster effortlessly breathe new life into the blues, with a sound that’s as fresh as it is timeless.

Ben Neill’s “Morphic Resonance” Is a Hypnotic Convergence of Science and Sound

by Leslie Sherman May 27, 2025 7:57 am Tagged With: 2025, Alternative, composer, indie, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

Few artists bridge the gap between conceptual art and immersive listening quite like Ben Neill.

A composer, performer and the inventor of the electro acoustic Mutantrumpet, Neill has long been known for bending the boundaries of sound and fusing acoustic tradition with digital innovation.

But with Morphic Resonance, the first release from his forthcoming album Amalgam Sphere, Neill enters especially ambitious territory as he explores the radical theories of evolutionary biologist Rupert Sheldrake.

The Stillness Between Notes in Pete Calandra’s “Night Mist”

by Leslie Sherman May 21, 2025 7:02 am Tagged With: 2025, composer, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

In an era where musical virtuosity is often measured by speed, scale or bombast, Pete Calandra’s new album Night Mist takes the opposite approach: a deliberate slowing down.

The result is a profoundly soothing, emotionally resonant collection of ambient tinged solo piano pieces that feel less like songs and more like whispers from within.

Night Mist, out now on all streaming platforms, is not Calandra’s first foray into quietude. The New York based composer and pianist has long explored the ambient and cinematic edges of instrumental music with albums like First Light and Carpe Noctem. But Night Mist is his most intimate and distilled work to date. It’s a cohesive 11 track meditation on breath, space and emotional subtlety.

“Faraway” Sets the Tone for Stigma’s Debut Album “Second Chance” – An Exploration of Isolation and Redemption

by Leslie Sherman May 9, 2025 6:44 am Tagged With: Germany, indie rock, music review, new music, Rock, singer, songwriter, United States

Nuremberg rock band Stigma are back with their brand new single “Faraway”.

“Faraway” is an evocative, slow burn meditation on distance – both emotional and physical, and the aching beauty that can bloom in separation.

Both intimate and cinematic in its sound, “Faraway” finds its strength not in a flashy production or explosive choruses, but in restraint, atmosphere and the emotional depth that it draws from silence as much as sound.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
